About Me
My American dream began with a single mother of three. As her only girl, I grew up bold, with a deep love for animals, and a passion to serve others. As a young person I attempted to avoid P.E. in high school and picked Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps (JROTC) as an elective, and unexpectedly found the path to achieve my dreams. Ironically, this led to a whole lot of exercising, you know, in preparation to join the military after high school. I never really got out of P.E.! Four years later, at 17 years old, I was shipped off to boot camp for the Marine Corps. Bless my poor momma’s heart.
During my 5 years of service in the Corps, I was truly blessed with a community of leaders, mentors, friends, and family who challenged, guided, and encouraged me. I had incredible opportunities to help different communities across the nation and around the globe. I proudly served our nation for 5 years before returning home to West Texas.
Returning home, I was able to turn my focus back on my family, animals, and future. Here at Gilliam’s Candle Co., you’ll find a very special product to purchase where 90% profit goes to Mitchell County Veterinarian Clinic in West Texas. From there, the money will help provide veterinarian care for families who need a little help getting medical attention for their beloved pets. You will also find a page dedicated to a list of Veterans owned businesses with a short description. As we grow, our ability to help and support our communities grows as well. My goal Gilliam’s Candle Co. is to provide beautiful, high-quality products for the everyday person while supporting local business and Veterans nation-wide.
